Chocolatey Chocolate Chip Cookies

And the cookie experiment continues. After I made some rather delicious but slightly sweet chocolate chip cookies (ccc), I tried an alternative recipe, using cocoa powder to make chocolatey chocolate chip cookies (look at my alliteration skills!!). Conclusion after round 2: the previous ones are nicer than this variation which I find too chocolatey (it looks like I'm pretty picky but when it comes to ccc, but everyone has this one favourite flavour and it is not easy to successfully/exactly replicate that. I'll keep trying.

220g butter, softened - 200g sugar - 2 large eggs - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract - 250g plain flour - 80g cocoa powder - 3/4 teaspoon baking powder - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 150g dark chocolate chips - (optional) 50g chopped walnuts

1) Preheat oven to 175°C.
2) In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy.Combine the flour,cocoa, baking powder, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
3) Using 2 tabelspoons, form the dough into small mounds and place on the prepared baking sheets. Leave some room between each cookie dough ball cause they will flatten out.
4) Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
